A 39-year-old porknocker was on Tuesday remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for attempted murder.
Bronson Wiltshire, of Charlotte Street, Bourda was not required to plead to the indictable charge which alleged that on November 25, 2018 in the Cuyuni Backdam, he wounded Kurt Walcott with intent to commit murder.

According to the facts, at around 03:00hrs on the day in question, Walcott was drinking at a shop in the Cuyuni when he was approached by Wiltshire about money he’d owed him for marijuana.
During a confrontation which ensued after Walcott refused to pay up, Wiltshire reportedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the head and abdomen then ran away.

Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield objected to bail being granted to Wiltshire since the victim is currently hospitalised and listed as critical.
Ruling in favour of the prosecutor, the chief magistrate remanded Wiltshire to prison until December 20 when he will reappear at the Bartica Magistrates’ Court.
