PMTC 1 continue dominance in Berbice volleyball

THE Port Mourant Training Centre 1 volleyball team continued their dominance of volleyball in Berbice by winning yet another competition recently.
Last Sunday, the team took top honours when they won the 6th Annual Balram Shane inter-club competition which was organised by the Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) and Castrol of Demerara.

Five teams contested the senior category, namely PMTC1, PMTC2, Rollers of New Amsterdam, Black Bush Polder and Castrol of Demerara.
After a competitive preliminary round, PMTC1 and Rollers clashed in the final and the former easily brushed aside their opponents 30-21. For the win, PMTC1 collected $20 000 and a trophy, while Rollers received $10 000 for their efforts.

In the Novice category Black Bush, Corriverton Jets and #47 participated and Black Bush Polder defeated Corriverton Jets 30-22 in the final. The winning team received $10 000 and a trophy while Corriverton Jets were rewarded with $5 000.

According to reports, the female match between Berbice and Castrol of Demerara was an exciting and closely fought encounter but Berbice came out on top with a 2-1 win with scores of 25-17, 22-25, 16-14.
The Berbice team collected $10 000 while Castrol received $5 000.
