Pomeroon citrus farmer busted with cocaine

A citrus farmer of the Upper Pomeroon River was arrested on Tuesday morning after 2.22 kilograms of cocaine were found on his premises.

Reports are that ranks of the Police Narcotics Branch acting on information received ventured to Upper Pomeroon River early Tuesday morning and arrested the citrus farmer after a search of his premises revealed the cocaine. He is being processed for court.

Last week , a Smithfield, New Amsterdam poultry farmer was arrested with over 12 pounds of cocaine at the Moleson Creek ferry stelling on the Corentyne. He was heading to Suriname at the time.

The suspect, Trevor Edward Loo , was arrested after the drug was unearthed by the police from the man’s vehicle.
