GUYANA Police Force ‘A’ Division (Georgetown and East Bank Demerara) received supplies donated by businessman Cobeer ‘Anand’ Persaud during a simple ceremony held at the commander’s Brickdam office, Georgetown.
The businessman of 14 Peters Hall Public Road, East Bank Demerara, donated two computers and two printers (HP) .
The office equipment earmarked for use at the Brickdam and Providence Police Stations were received by Divisional Commander Assistant Commissioner Marlon Chapman, during a simple ceremony at his Brickdam office.
Persaud, popularly known as ‘Anand’ or ‘Cobeer’, is actively involved in activities that support law enforcement and has received many commendation awards from the GPF for his community-minded approach in the fight against crime, dating back since 1992.
The owner and managing-director of C. Persaud Dental Lab located in front of his Peters Hall Property, Persaud has also been chairman of the Providence Police Station Management Committee for the past 15 years and is fully aware of the needs of the station and those of the divisional headquarters.
Commander Chapman applauded and thanked the donor who has been holding the rank of a rural sergeant for a quarter of a century for his timely donation of the much-needed pieces of equipment.
The commander also used the opportunity to call on the other station management committees in ‘A’ Division to emulate the work of Cobeer ‘Anand’ Persaud.
