POLICE arrested a dog food vendor on Thursday after finding an illegal weapon at his ‘E’ Field Sophia, home.

The 25-year-old man was found with an unlicensed.32 Taurus pistol with 12 live matching rounds. Police said he is being processed for court. Only recently two dog food vendors were robbed and one shot at the corner of Aubrey Barker and Stevedore, North Ruimveldt.

The suspect fled the scene in a waiting motor car.

One of the injured dog food vendors was Shane Cooper, 26, of Bamboo Drive, Meadow Brook Squatting Area, who was shot in his abdomen and left leg during the attack.

The gunman relieved him of a quantity of cash, said to be his sales for the day, and a gold chain and ring he was wearing at the time. The other vendor was a woman.
