THE Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) will be hoping that home comfort could give them the edge when they face an upbeat Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) unit in today’s Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)-sponsored New Building Society second division 40-over final.

Both teams are high in confidence, and at yesterday’s pre-match press conference, held at DCC, the Home of Legends, both captains were upbeat for today’s game.

DCC captain Lawrence Smith said while his opponents are a competitive unit, his team are ready for the challenge.

“We know what we need to do as a group, so hopefully this gives us another opportunity for a win. Everyone is looking forward to it; we will be focused on the job at hand, and try to dominate right from the start.

On the other hand, GCC’s Ronaldo Alimohamed accepted the fact that the game will be a real test for both teams.

The Guyana Jaguars Super50 2018 standby player is of the opinion that once his team play as a unit, they can come out champions.

Today’s game starts at 10:30hrs and the presentation ceremony follows immediately after the conclusion of the game.
