THE country’s new Crime Chief is Deputy Commissioner ‘Law Enforcement’ Lyndon Alves while the new Traffic Chief will be Superintendent Linden Isles.
The Guyana Police Force made this disclosure Monday, noting that the transfers will take effect from yesterday’s date – September 3, 2018.
However, Alves is expected to head on annualised leave, unless it is deferred.

Other transfers include: Deputy Commissioner Paul Williams, DSM, to ‘Administration;
Deputy Commissioner Maxine Graham, DSM, to ‘Operations; Deputy Commissioner Nigel Hoppie, DSM, will head Special Branch/Intelligence; Assistant Commissioner Clifton Hicken will be Commander ‘B’ Division; Senior Superintendent Calvin Brutus will be Commander of ‘C’ Division and Superintendent Dion Moore will be Second-in-Command ‘D’ Division while Superintendent Ramesh Ashram will be the Traffic Officer ‘A’ Division.
This is in the aftermath of former Crime Chief and Divisional Commander Leslie James being sworn in as the 12th Commissioner of Police.
President David Granger named James as the new commissioner following consultations with the Leader of the Opposition, Bharrat Jagdeo, at State House recently.
This resulted in Assistant Commissioner of Police David Ramnarine, who acted as Top Cop for almost two years, being bypassed.
Ramnarine will be proceeding on annualised vacation leave as he congratulated the new leadership of the Guyana Police Force.
