MOST of Guyana’s leading racehorses will take the track again today when the Budhan’s Memorial Turf Club stages its one-day horserace meet at its Number 66 Village, Corentyne race track starting at 13:00hrs.
Information from the turf club late yesterday afternoon confirmed that over 40 of the country’s best thoroughbreds will be on show in the seven-race card meet.
The main event is the race for L Open horses and the winner will take away a $150 000 first prize.
Other races will feature L Maiden, the two-years-old Guyana-bred horses, the Unclassified Division 1 Unclassified Division 2, and Unclassified Division 3.
The final race according to club officials will be a Non-winner Unclassified event for horses who have failed to place in the day’s event.
The racetrack is in good shape and an entertaining day at the races is promised.
