JAMAL Gilkes netted a game-high 39 points, leading the unbeaten Linden Technical Institute (LTI) to another win in the Linden Amateur Basketball Association’s Youth Basketball Guyana/Powerade Regional U-19 Basketball Championship
LTI’s 107-24 win came against Christianburg/Wismar Secondary School on Wednesday, as Mackenzie High and Wisburg Secondary also registered wins at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard court.

Gilkes has amassed 102 points in three games for an average of 34 points per game while teammate Daniel Lee scored 25 points and Dillon Pellew added 12 points.
Ezra Thomas was the best player for the Christianburg/Wismar Secondary with 12 points.
In the other game, Mackenzie High notched up their second win by beating New Silvercity Secondary 56-30 after leading 31-7 at halftime.
Leon Benjamin was their best player with 25 points. He has 73 points in the tournament and averages 24 with teammate Yannick Tappin also in good form, scoring 19 points for a total 58 points so far, at an average of 19 per game. Kobe Tappin scored 17 points for New Silvercity.
The third game on Wednesday resulted in a 40-29 for Wisburg over Harmony Secondary after leading at the break 23-13. Jonathan Copeland was again the main scorer for Wisburg with 21 points while for Harmony the best player was Omar Greene with nine points.
On Tuesday, LTI defeated Mackenzie High School 67-51, as Gilkes had a game-high 21 points, Daniel Lee had 17, Raynaldo Patoir 16 and Dillon Pellew got 11.
Leon Benjamin scored 21 to match the top score in the game as Yannick Tappin contributed 17.

Also on that day, New Silvercity Secondary beat Harmony 43-24, as Kobe Tappin got a game-high 18 points while for Harmony Secondary’s Delroy Belle netted 14.
In the third Wisburg Secondary scored a 55-37 victory against Christianburg/Wismar Secondary. Jonathan Copeland led them with 18 points, and Keyon Davidson scored 17. Christianburg/Wismar Secondary’s Tremaine Browne top-scored with 11 points.
This afternoon, LTI face New Silvercity Secondary at 14:00hrs and Harmony Secondary meet Mackenzie High at 16:00hrs.
