Members of the Guyana Police Force, led by Deputy Commander Wayne DeHearte prayed with the family of Beyonce Ross, a National cyclist who is diagnosed with a brain tumour.

“HOW are we going to live without her? If Lazarus could have risen from the dead, then my only daughter could be healed!”
Those were some of the words Yonette Clark declared yesterday as she hoped for the best, even as her daughter, Beyonce Ross, clings to life.

Yesterday a team of police ranks from Berbice headed by Deputy Commander Wayne DeHearte paid a visit to the bedside of the ‘brain-dead’ national cyclist who copped three gold medals at the national level.

Up to late yesterday the family was receiving constant briefs from doctors at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where the 15-year-old has been hospitalised since earlier this week after being transferred from the premier health institution in New Amsterdam.

Yesterday at the hospital the police provided the family with financial assistance to cover some amount of their travelling expenses.
Speaking with the Guyana Chronicle at the hospital, the mother of the ailing athlete pointed out that the family is optimistic that Ross would pull through and this is largely due to feedbacks from the doctors.

However, the mother, based on the latest update that the child is brain-dead, says the family is now expecting a miracle.
The athlete’s siblings and parents were present at GPH, even as she lay in the Intensive Care Unit breathing with aid.

Yesterday the police prayed with the family before moving close to her hospital bed and also praying for her.
