-two males still on the run after escaping weeks ago
STAFF members of the New Opportunity Corps (NOC) at Onderneeming village on the Essequibo Coast, as well as police from ‘G’ Division (Essequibo Coast/Essequibo Islands) on Thursday recaptured the three females who had escaped the facility on April 7.
They were found roaming the Adventure Sands area. The teenagers had escaped custody after a 16-year-old inmate allegedly opened the chain link from the fence close to the female dormitory.
The three recaptured girls had been committed to the institution for the offences of wandering and unlawful wounding. The girl who allegedly instigated the act was recaptured Monday evening at Airy Hall Public Road; she was escorted to the Suddie Public Hospital where a medical examination was conducted. Two males who escaped weeks ago are still on the run.
