DRAG-RACING action returns to the South Dakota Circuit on April 22 for the second instalment of the King of the Strip meet.

Following a premature end to the first event earlier this year, the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) has planned round two in keeping with their calendar of events.

GMR&SC president Rameez Mohamed contended that while round one did not get to feature several of the faster cars, round two is expected to be a firecracker.

“Round two will feature at least four cars from Suriname coming to compete in the lower brackets. They have confirmed that much so far but we don’t have those names yet.”

“Additionally, there are a few new ideas that we are toying with for this meet as well but I can’t say too much on that at the moment until our committee meeting later this week,” he added.

However, we are encouraging all our competitors and fans to come out and witness a good day of drag-racing action. Surely they won’t regret it.”

The event has already attracted title sponsors in Mohamed’s Enterprise, JAPARTS, Tropical Shipping and STAG Beer. (Stephan Sookram)
