Radar Security Services and Supplies to establish sports clubs in Region 2

RADAR Security Services and Supplies, of Georgetown, which recently secured contracts in Region 2, has expressed an interest in establishing sports clubs in Essequibo.
The firm is providing security services to Government buildings across the Region while affording employment for a wide cross-section of Essequibians.

In an invited comment, a source associated with the firm disclosed that it is part of the company’s corporate and social responsibility to generate and promote a harmonious relationship among communities, which, he added, can be realised through sports.
“It is the intention therefore to establish sports clubs within the villages that will be engaged in a number of sporting disciplines,” he explained.

According to the official, the company will be providing sports gear for cricket, football, basket-ball, volley-ball, circle-tennis and table-tennis, among others.
The company will also undertake administrative and legislative support for the efficient functioning of the clubs in order to sustain their viability and success.

The formation of clubs across the Region will primarily target youths and the first club is expected to be established shortly in the village of Henrietta where the office of the firm is located.

Generally, sports clubs in the Region have been dormant and this has led to the decline in sporting activities and the lack of exposure of promising athletes. (Elroy Stephney)
