TWO charges of tampering with vehicles’ chassis numbers have been withdrawn against Nigel and Ricky Chung, a father and son duo. However, the men along with former policeman Jason Harry were yesterday slapped with two new charges for the same offence.

Harry along with Nigel Chung, 43, and his son, Ricky Chung, 23, of Coverden, East Bank Demerara, were charged with two counts of fraudulent imitation of an identification mark of a registered motor vehicle.

Particulars of the first charge alleged that the men between August 17, 2017 and February 13, 2018, fraudulently used chassis plate number 121315388 on a registered Toyota Spacio motor vehicle knowing same to be false.

It is further alleged that the men between December 9, 2017 and February 10, 2018 used chassis plate number NZ2 2400013009 on a Toyota Allion motor vehicle.

The men pleaded not guilty to the charges and were placed on $200,000 bail for each charge by Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman. They are to return to court on April 12.
