THIRTY-two-year-old Quinton Ashby of Charity Back Street on the Essequibo Coast was on Monday granted bail for unlawfully wounding his friend. Ashby made his first appearance before magistrate Ester Sam at the Charity Magistrate’s Court.

The charge stated that on February17 at Charity Back Street, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Chris Henry with a broken bottle. He however pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted $15,000 bail.

The case will be called again on March 12. He was represented by attorney-at-law Latchmi Dindyal who told the court that his client was not a flight risk and he had a permanent place of abode.
