YESTERDAY presented a goal-scoring frenzy when action continued in the Milo Schools U-18 football tournament at the Ministry of Education ground.
Thirty-one goals were scored in three matches as the tournament went into day two of the second round with Sir Leon Lessons thrashing Cummings Lodge 10-1.
Zian Grey was the star of the Sir Leon Lessons’ show scoring in the 12th, 13th, 58th and 69th while Lennox Young’s double in the 57th and 59th added salt to the wound.
Single strikes by Slan Jones (20th), Teon Forde (30th), John McKenzie (55th) and Classom McClaren (60th) also accented the score line.
In the second game, Tyrone Khan was the man to watch, scoring more than a third of Masters Academy’s 15-0 rout of St George’s.
Khan had success in the 1st, 18th, 24th, 26th, 51st and 60th. There were also braces by Jonathon Bart (29th and 57th), Calvin Peters (48th and 66th) and Carl Lynch (25th and 29th).
Elyajah Fraser’s 20th minute strike along with others from Isaiah Anderson (59th) and Shannon Samnauth (64th) took the tally to 15.
Pure Masters were also victorious on the day with a 5-1 drubbing of School of the Nations.
Lone strikes by Joel Murray (24th), Junior Williams (28th), Tyrese Ford (56th) and Brandon Solomon (59th) along with an own goal accounted for the five goals.
The consolation goal was scored by Marius Dalima in the 54th minute
Matches continue today with Ann’s Grove Secondary challenging Vergenoegen Secondary, Christianburg Secondary playing Dolphin Secondary and Morgan Learning Centre facing Bishops’ High in the last game.
Games commence at noon.
