A GOED Fortuin, West Bank Demerara poultry farmer and his family were brutally attacked and robbed by six armed men on Saturday night.

According to reports, shortly after 21:30 hrs, Ganga Tekchand and members of his family were attacked by the men who were dropped off by a car.

The man and his mother- in-law as well as his wife were beaten by the masked bandits who later escaped via the Parfaite Harmonie bypass near Goed Fortuin.

Residents of the area attempted to pursue the bandits as a large crowd gathered after news of the incident was shared. The police are investigating the matter.
