Moraikobai kids feted, swamped with toys
MORE than 300 children of Moraikobai (Region Five) were feted with scrumptious meals, drinks, goodies, toys, and clothing when a team from Savannah Drive and several sponsors visited the village over the weekend.
According to the coordinator, Shane D’Andrade, they mobilised a team of eight members and sponsors and through generous donations garnered from local companies such as Digicel Guyana, and Twins Manufacturing Company, they were able to fete the children of that remote Amerindian community.
He added that Digicel Guyana donated school supplies and toys, while Twins Manufacturing Company donated a quantity of medical supplies which was handed over to the Moraikobai Health Centre.

D’Andrade said it was their first charity and Christmas drive and the response was good, in that the entire village turned out for the event which took place on Saturday and Sunday last.
He related that they received a quantity of clothing and toys, all of which were distributed to the children of the village.
However, Pristine Waters came on board and provided the food items which were used to prepare the meal. D’Andrade is hoping that the event becomes an annual one, whereby they could continue to spread Christmas cheer throughout Guyana.
