THE disappearance of a local promoter, who pocketed large sums of money from several companies for last Saturday night’s “Night with the Stars” dancehall show at the National Park, is seen as the primary reason for the main artistes not performing at the event.
New Level Entertainment Company, a local promotion group headed by one Seon Blades , had been promoting the show which was expected to feature several Jamaican dancehall stars including “QQ” and his dancers , “Pamputae” , “Gage Almighty ” and local singer “Lil Million” last Saturday night.

However, patrons were unable to see their favourite artistes since the promoter reportedly vanished before the show.
During the show, patrons were upset when word surfaced that the artistes would not perform. As such, volleys of bottles were thrown at the stage, as many lamented the loss of their money from their $1000 per ticket purchases.
Reports are that the artistes were booked for the event several weeks ago and were promised by the promoter, their payment on arrival here. Local telecommunications company GTT was also a sponsor and the company reportedly fulfilled its part of the event through sponsorship.

According to a video posted by YardHype, the Jamaican artistes were left at their hotel in the city minus per diems or any form of assistance by the promoter soon after their arrival here late last week.
The artistes were visibly upset, even as they noted that they will return to Guyana to satisfy their fans.

When the Guyana Chronicle attempted to contact Blades, the person at the other end of the phone noted that the man was not there.
Social media was abuzz as YardHype’s video circulated on the incident. Many persons criticised the action of the local promoter.
