FOUR ranks, three police constables and one prison officer, are to be charged soon under the Criminal Law Offences (Act) Chapter 8:01 in relation to the escape of a prisoner from the Lusignan Prison, East Coast Demerara on October 4.
On the said date, Dellon Blake, who is on remand for a rape charge, escaped from the facility reportedly in clear sight of the ranks.

A detective superintendent of police was deputed to conduct the investigation which has since been completed and the report was submitted for legal advice.
Blake, 35, reportedly used his bed sheet and wooden pallets to help himself over the fence on the north- western side in full view of police ranks performing duties in the guard hut tower. The tower overlooks the new holding facility at the Lusignan Prison and the area was well illuminated.
