Fun Japanese film on tonight

–at the Princess Movie Theatres

ALL roads lead tonight to the Princess Movie Theatres at Providence for the screening of the Japanese movie, “Wood Job”, compliments of the Embassy of Japan.

According to the storyline, Wood Job (Japan 2014) is a fun film with lots of humour, heart and a bit of romance. It is based on the journey of Yuki Hirano, a lackadaisical city kid, who, after failing his college entrance examination, decides to become an apprentice lumberjack.

And, as Hirano reluctantly tries to fit in among the villagers of an isolated mountain community while pining for the love of a local teacher, hilarity ensues.
The suspense in the movie is whether he will survive his terrible instructor or be accepted by the community and win over the object of his affection?

Hirano is played by Shota Sometani, who started his career as an actor when he was seven years old. He has since performed various roles in movies and TV dramas.

Masami Nagasawa, meanwhile, plays the role of the teacher who captured young Hirano’s heart. At age 12, she began her career as an actress when she won the championship of the audition.

She has since appeared in a variety of movies and TV dramas, in addition to being awarded many prizes, including the notable ones in the Japan Academy Film Award.
Patrons wishing to gain entry to see the movie will need a ticket, which can be obtained free of charge from the Princess Theatres Box Office on a first-come basis. Erach person is entitled to two tickets.
The movie starts at 18:00hrs sharp.
