THREE men nabbed by police with an unlicensed 9mm revolver and matching ammunition were on Friday jointly charged and appeared before City Magistrate Leron Daly on two counts of firearm possession.

Kevin Brummell (21) and Akeem Calendar (20), both of Charlestown and Keon Daniels, (26) of West Ruimveldt were charged for having an unlicensed revolver in their possession on October 17, at Sussex Street, Charlestown.

Brummell pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to two years’ jail on each charge. However the sentences will run concurrently.

Calendar and Daniels both denied the charge and were released on $100,000 bail each. The matter is adjourned until November 10.

According to reports, on the day in question the police intercepted a motor car with the three defendants inside. The gun was reportedly found inside the car and all three of the men had denied knowledge of the gun.
