… is the new president of the GCCC

FORMER Guyana Senior Cricket Team Coach, Albert Smith-Clements, has been elected to serve as the new President of Guymine Community Cricket Club (GCCC) at its annual general meeting (AGM) held recently at the Overwinning Primary School.
A total of 32 persons were present at the AGM to discuss the required aims and objectives of the club.

Also on the agenda were measures to put in place to regain activities within the community. A motion was made to elect an executive body and committee.
Nominations were made for the position of President, Vice- President, Secretary, Treasurer, Patron, and Public Relations Officer (PRO). These nominations were voted upon by the show of hands and the persons were accepted.

Also elected to serve on the executive with Smith- Clements at the helm are: Malcolm Peters- First Vice President, Ronald Mars-Second Vice President, Angela Haniff- Secretary, Moses Jaipaul – Treasurer, Luke Latiff – Public Relations Officer, and Lennox Cush- Patron. Ulric Cummings served as the Returning Officer

In addition to Executive body, seven (7) Committee Members were elected, namely, Bridgesh Jaipaul, Charles Shepherd, Desmond Weeks, Ashley Jones, Takerdeen, Nigel Vyfhius and Seon Profit.

Meanwhile, the Kildonan Cricket Club (KCC) also recently held its first AGM at the Kildonan Community Centre. The elected members to serve are Qualis Winter- President, Carlos Leitch – Vice-President, Colin Bynoe –Secretary and Quaicy Henry –Treasurer.

Of note is that, the elected President and Secretary of the KCC and GCCC will be the respective clubs’ representatives to the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB).
