ATTORNEY General and Legal Affairs Minister Basil Williams has met with officials from the Social Impact/USAID Monitoring and Evaluation Team to further evaluate the system of juvenile justice in Guyana.
The Social Impact/USAID Monitoring and Evaluation Team is here conducting vigorous monitoring and evaluation of the system to track and support the attainment of project objectives, the Attorney General Chambers said in a release.
The evaluation aims to ensure that programme interventions are evidence-based and both USAID and the Government of Guyana learn from the approaches utilised and the reforms enacted.

Guyana is looking to receive maximum benefits from the USAID new Youth Empowerment Services (YES) Project.
The YES programme supports the reduction of youth involvement in crime and violence in targeted communities in the Eastern and Southern Caribbean, with particular focus on Guyana, St Kitts and Nevis, and St. Lucia.
The team, which consisted of Reform Study Lead, Dr Dianne Williams; Project Researcher Lily Hoffman;and Evaluation Field Coordinator,Caroline English,met with the Attorney General and staff from the chambers’ Drafting Division Charles Fung-A-Fatt SC, Chief Parliamentary Counsel Ananda Dhurjon, Justice Zuru and Senior Parliamentary Counsel Joanne Bond.
