AN EAST Berbice, Corentyne family is in a state of disbelief after a mother found her 16-year-old son hanging from a rope in her house on Wednesday.
This newspaper understands that Shamar Hunte reportedly took his own life after he and his mother, Jennifer Henry had an argument Wednesday morning, before she left for work. When Henry returned from work to her Williamsburg Village home, she enquired about her son but did not see him, as her calls to him went unanswered.
Henry decided to check the young man’s bedroom, where she made the gruesome discovery. “The door was closed and when she pushed it open, she see Shamar hanging,” a relative disclosed.
The incident has left the family in a state of disbelief as they are still trying to come to grips with his death.
