THE 2017 edition of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB)-sponsored Dave West India Imports Inter-County Uner-15 one-day tournament, which is being as a yardstick by the junior selectors, bowls off today with two games in the Georgetown.

According to the GCB, in the first round fixtures Demerara will play Essequibo at Police Sports Club ground, while Berbice and the GCB President’s X1 square off at the GCC ground.
The second round is billed for tomorrow, while the third round along with the final will be played on Friday and Sunday respectively.
The GCB also indicated that six points will be awarded for a win, two points for a wash-out or abandoned match, and 0.1 point for each fast bowling wicket.
After the tournament the best squad will be selected to play in the Regional tournament later this year.
Guyana have been a dominant force in the Regional tournament, winning the 2014 and 2015 seasons, while they were the runners-up last year.
The respective squads are as follows:
Demerara: Shoaib Shaw, Mahindra Dindyal, Chad Shivrattan, Edmond Pearson, Andre Seepersaud, Daniel Mootoo, Mark Ramanand, Chanderpaul Ramraj, Trevon Charles, Negusa Walters, Devanand Khemraj, Ryan Persaud, Ushardev Balgobin and Brandon Jaikarran.
Berbice: Sarwan Chaitnarine, Daniel Dharamdat Ricardo Ramdial, Reyad Karim, Vikash Subramani, Marvan Prashad, Anthony Williams, Farouk Subhan, Andel Milne, Abdur Ramsammy, Akash Heralall, Saif Amoi, Romel Retimyah and Gourav Ramesh.
Essequibo: Sheldon Charles, Devindra Ramdahin, Oren Gibson, Ronaldo Scouten, Raphael David, Manoj Dasraat, Chaitram Seurattan, Wasim Mohamed, Ardesh Ramdial, Mark Mohabir, Sunil Persaud, Inzamam Bacchus, Shawn Monro, and Tyrone Brandon.
