THERE aren’t a lot of drag-racers more enthusiastic than Marlon Wilson and fans will have a chance to see him ply his trade on Sunday, March 19, when the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club hosts its Reaction Part One meet.
Wilson, who drives all the way from Berbice in his Toyota NZE street car for most racing events, is calling on all his fans along the way to come out and show their support as he plans to put a whipping on his opponents.
“The plan is to go up there and destroy all the competition in my class, all my opponents,” Wilson told Chronicle Sport, adding that he is confident of coming out on top.
He continued, “I haven’t done much, anything much to the car preparation-wise, the car always works well and it’s just to service, ensure everything is good to go for Sunday.”
Adding to the hype that filled the air, the Berbician has picked out the champion of the 13-second bracket Imran Khan as one of the major contenders for the March 19 event.
“It’s my friend but he already knows that on the day, the best man will win. We are friends and we know each other but we never met up in the same group before and I think this time we are going to meet up.”
Meanwhile, Suriname has been confirmed as being a part of the season opening Drag Race meet, billed for March 19 at the South Dakota Circuit.
