WEST Ruimveldt,St. Agnes, St. Pius and St. Angela’s advanced to the semi-final stage of the COURTS Petra Pee-Wee football competition yesterday at Thirst Park. West Ruimveldt was the first to advance via a 2-0 win over F.E. Pollard with strikes from Kevin Mentis (35th) and Kenneth Gordon,(38th) while St Agnes through Justin Alexander (15th) and David Xavier (17th) beat Marian Academy by the same margin.
St Puis on the other hand were made to fight a little harder as a Keron Adams 40th minute strike sent them into the next round after an earlier Dwayne Baptiste (7th) minute strike was cancelled out by Jequan Cole in the 10th
St. Angela’s then needled North Georgetown through Antwoine Vincent (13th) for the final spot.
In the 9-16 Positional Section,Stella Marris won 5-4 on penalty kicks against St Gabriel’s after their game ended 2-2 after regulation time. Stella Maris’ scorers were John Hynes (16th and 25th) while St Gabriel’s had Tyrese Hart on target in the 8th and 24th.
Winfer Gardens beat South Ruimveldt 1-0 through Orlando Dickie (39th) in game two while game three was a one sided affair with Tucville railroading Redeemer 4-0 thanks to strikes from John Harry (2nd and 11th), Jamal Embrack (19th) and Ronaldo Gomes-28th.
Game four also ended 4-0 with St Margaret’s scoring through Mickelle Andrews (17th, 24th, 26th and 28th)while Mae’s failed to find the back of the nets. (Stephan Sookram)
