Armed men attacked a man and his wife on Sunday night while they were in the process of closing their business at Nouvelle Flanders Village, West Coast Demerara.

The victims have been identified as 59-year-old Lennox Albert and 68-year-old Verna Albert. According to a police release, at about 20:00h on August 14, two identifiable males, one armed with a handgun attacked the couple and relieved them of $500,000 cash and a quantity of colognes.

In the process Lennox Albert was relieved of his licensed .32 pistol with five rounds. The bandits who escaped on foot, have not yet been apprehended.
