The Guyana Chronicle understands that after a discussion by the Board following the completion of an investigation, Hanoman wrote a letter to acting GPHC CEO, Dr Sheik Amir, informing him that a decision was made to reinstate Khan.

The substantive CEO was then sent a letter on Friday last instructing him to resume duties.

Khan was sent on leave to facilitate a forensic audit into the operations at the hospital. Dr Hanoman said during an interview on Saturday that no serious issues were cited in the report debarring Khan from resuming duty as CEO, “so it is only right that he be allowed to return to work.”

However, the Minister of Public Health stressed that the evaluation of the audit report on Khan is still incomplete and until the process is finished, Khan will remain off of the job.
