POINTS leader Slingerz Football Club will face joint third-place team Guyana Defence Force (GDF) in the opening game of a double-header card of the Guyana Football Federation’s GFF/STAG Elite Beer Football League at the Buxton United Recreational ground on Friday, from 18:30hrs.The feature game which is billed for a 21:00hrs start brings together home side Buxton United and Fruta Conquerors.
Slingerz lead the points standing with 24 points from eight matches having not lost any of their matches.
The West Demerara-based team has so far scored 22 goals and conceded a mere three. Their goal difference is plus 19. GDF on the other hand has 14 points after winning four of their eight matches, drawing two and losing a similar amount. They have so far scored 13 goals and conceded 12 for a goal difference of plus one.
Buxton United for their part are currently fifth in the points standings with five points from their eight matches. They have won one, lost five and drawn two and have so far scored five goals and conceded 12 for a minus seven goal difference, while Fruta Conquerors are currently placed second in the points standings with 19 from their eight matches.
The North Ruimveldt-based team have won six of their matches, lost one and drawn the other. To date they have scored 20 goals and conceded nine for a goal difference of plus 11.
