A 25-YEAR-OLD plumber was on Monday remanded to prison after he made his appearance before city magistrate Dylan Bess.Robert Gibson pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that on January 4, 2016, while armed with a gun, he robbed Sherwin Ford of one Samsung cell phone valued $75,000 and $119,000 in cash.

The police prosecutor objected to bail because a firearm was used, and because of the prevalence, nature and gravity of the offence committed.

According to the facts, on the day in question, there was a traffic jam in the vicinity of West Ruimveldt, and the virtual complainant was caught in the traffic. The defendant approached the virtual complainant’s car, pointed a gun at him and robbed him.

Bail was denied, and the defendant has to return to court on April 19, 2016.
