LED by half-centuries from Montcin Hodge and Kieran Powell, Leeward Islands Hurricanes closed the rain-affected opening day of their ninth round match of the WICB/Professional Cricket League (PCL) four-day Tournament against Guyana Jaguars on 237-3.The game is being played at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium, Antigua.
Hodge is unbeaten on 74, while Powell made 55. Daron Cruickshank (43) and Keacy Carty (33) were the other two batsmen to be dismissed.
The other not-out batsman is Orlando Peters on 29. The successful bowlers for the Jaguars are left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul (2-44) and Christopher Barnwell (1-40).
In the other two matches: Barbados Pride closed day one on 220-2 against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force. Kraigg Brathwaite is unbeaten on 105.
In the other game between Windward Islands Volcanoes and Jamaica Scorpions at Arnos Vale Cricket Ground, the Jamaica Scorpions closed day one on 237-5. John Campbell slammed 135.
