ONE of Guyana’s leading electronic stores, Gizmos and Gadgets, renewed its cricket sponsorship of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club (RHTY&SC) for the seventh year.
The sponsorship covers the Club’s Under-23 and first-division teams and the packages are worth $375 000 and $160 000 respectively.Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster at the presentation ceremony hailed the partnership between the Club and Gizmos and Gadgets as highly successful.
Foster said under the Gizmos & Gadgets sponsorship, the Club has won twelve major cricket tournaments and has produced numerous players for Berbice, Guyana and the West Indies.
Among the titles won are the Peter Lewis Under-23 – 2010, Rancharitar 40 overs – 2011, Universal DVD 20/20 – 2011, Tenelec 2012, 2013 and 2015, Berbice River Bridge 2015, Busta Champion of Champions 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015 along with NALICO/Bakewell 20/20 – 2014.
Over the years, the Club has produced the calibre of Assad Fudadin, Esaun and Royston Crandon, Shemaine Campbelle, Delbert Hicks, Jason Sinclair, Khemraj Mahadeo, Dominic Rikhi, Collis Butts, Rajiv Ivan, Erva Giddings, Keon Sinclair, Eon Hooper, Clinton Pestano and Troy Mathieson.
The teams since 2010 have also successfully completed over 600 community-related programmes under the name of their sponsors with the main objectives of making a positive difference in the lives of youths, the elderly and less fortunate.
Marketing Manager of Gizmos and Gadgets Earl Gomes stated that his company was pleased to be associated with the RHTY&SC, an organisation which has a proven track of achievement.
He also disclosed that the company’s management was satisfied with the performance of the team on and off the field.
The Club, Gomes stated, was a role-model organisation which others should try to emulate. He committed the sponsor to fully support the teams in 2016 and urged them to uphold their high standards of discipline, hard work and commitment.
The RHTGG in 2016 would be led by captain Shawn Perreira, vice-captain Clinton Pestano, while Hilbert Foster would serve as manager. Collis Butts would be the coach.
