SEVEN hundred thousand dollars will be up for grabs in the Unity Cricket Softball matches at the Guyana National Stadium on Saturday in five exciting games from 10:00hrs in the first major softball event to be held there.The Open 10/10 semi-finals involving Berbice Karibee Rice Boyz, Essequibo, Regal and Wolf Warriors will be played for a first-place prize of $200 000, runners-up $100 000, third place $50 000 and fourth place $50 000.
The winners of the semi-finals will clash in a grand final at 16:30hrs.
Berbice Masters and their Demerara counterparts will compete for a winners’ prize of $100 000 while the runners-up get $50 000.
Berbice Karibee Rice Girls face off with Demerara Girls with the winners taking home $100 000 and the losers collecting $50 000 in what should be a riveting affair.
A Fun Day for children will also be held on the tarmac while the feature event pits the top players in West Indies T20 playing for $1M and the President’s trophy.
This game will showcase West Indies T20 captain Darren Sammy, Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Jason Holder, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Smith, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Devendra Bishoo, Veerasammy Permaul, Rajendra Chandrika among others.
Tickets for all three events cost $3 000 and will allow you entry into any stand while children under 12 years will get into the ground free but cannot take up a seat in the stands.

Meanwhile, Trophy Stall has contributed the President’s trophy for the T20, along with the Man-of-the-Match trophy, the winners’ trophy for the Demerara against Berbice Masters match and Man-of-the-Match in that game.
Trophy Stall is also providing the Championship trophy for the Female game and for the Player-of-the-Match, along with the uniforms for the Demerara female team.
