A D’URBAN Backland resident was on Tuesday remanded to prison when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts charged with unlawful possession of a gun.It is alleged that Leroy Williams, 24, was found with an illegal .32 revolver on January 23 at his home.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge, telling the court that three masked men in a car were kidnapping him. But before he could further explain his defense, the Chief Magistrate interrupted him to say that he was being denied bail.
She, however, noted that on the next court date, February 15 before Magistrate Alex Moore, he would be given the chance to apply for bail.
