THE Princess International Group of Companies is the latest corporate body to throw its weight behind President David Granger’s ‘Boats, Buses and Bicycles’ (3Bs) initiative and has pledged to donate a bus for school children.“Next month we will participate in this project. We will buy a bus for the kids,” Mr Eray Kanmaz, General Manager of Princess Hotel and Casino Guyana said, following a meeting with the President on Thursday at the Ministry of the Presidency.
Director of the Princess International Group, Mr Mehmet Hamdi Karagozoglu, also attended the meeting.
The Princess Hotel officials also discussed plans for future investments in Guyana, particularly as it relates to the oil and gas sector.
President Granger’s ‘3Bs’ initiative continues to receive overwhelming support from the business community and the public. To date, five school boats have been handed over to various riverine communities; hundreds of bicycles, pairs of shoes and two 30-seater school buses have also been distributed countrywide to help to ensure that all of Guyana’s children are able to attend school, the Ministry of the Presidency said in a release.
