Suspended spinner Sunil Narine is the highest paid West Indies player in the Indian Premier League(IPL), earning US$1.2 million from Kolkata Knight Riders for his participation in the season.
The next highest-paid player from the West Indies is the injured Kieron Pollard, who takes home US$1.46 million for his efforts.Surprisingly, Chris Gayle, the man widely agreed to be the most dangerous player on the planet, has to make do with a measly US$1.26 million.
Among retained players in the league, Dwayne Bravo of the West Indies is the worst-paid.
Bravo, who will play for the expansion IPL team Rajkot, will earn just over US$600,000 this season.
The IPL seems to reward home-grown talent most significantly with Virat Kohli, who will collect US$2.26 million this season for his enterprise with the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who was widely believed to have been the highest player in the league, falls behind Kholi by some way, coming in second with a salary of US$1.89 million.
