RAMKISHORE Samwani was yesterday fined by City Magistrate Alex Moore for disposal of waste in a public place. The charge stated that on October 24, 2015 at Stabroek Access Road between Water Street and the Demerara River a public way, he deposited waste on the said street in a white plastic bag.
He was fined $15,000, which he has to pay on or before February 12, 2016 or serve three weeks’ imprisonment by default.
The judgment was made in his absence, as he never made an appearance since the case was called on November 6, 2015. The constable informed the court that on the day in question, she was on patrol and witnessed the defendant depositing a white plastic bag on the street.
