REGARDED as one of the most highly anticipated match-ups in the COURTS Pee Wee Football Tournament’s history, St Angela’s and Enterprise Primary will go head-to-head today at the Banks DIH Thirst Park ground to see who will be crowned 2015 Champions. It will be the first time that these two teams have reached the final of the Championship that involves children Under-11, drawn from primary schools across Georgetown.
Thanks to a 38th minute strike from Keon Daniels, St Angela’s Primary got the better of West Ruimveldt Primary, winning 1-0 in the semi-finals.
Enterprise Primary had played to a scoreless regulation time against St Pius Primary, but eventually walked away 3-1 winners via penalty.
Parents, teachers and fellow students are all expected to cram the Banks DIH venue to cheer on the two sides, especially since it’s a holiday.
Douglas has carried the St Angela’s Primary on his shoulders with admirable support from Antoine Vincent, Nickone Dover, Antonio McArthur and Kenroy Cadogan.
The St Pius/West Ruimveldt third-place game should set the stage for the final, since the two teams would want to salvage some pride after missing out on a spot in the final.
Kick-off time today is 12:00hrs with the final set for 15:00hrs.
