Murdered: Stanley Lovell called “Steve”

A car rental agent was early Saturday morning gunned down in the vicinity of Bourda Market in Georgetown.Dead is 30-year-old Stanley Lovell called “Steve” of Lot 64 Premniranjan Place, Prashad Nagar.
During the incident, Anthony Lall, 21, a cleaner of Bent Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown, was also wounded.
Police reported that Stanley Lovell was sitting on the bonnet of his motor car, PMM 3825, when he was approached by a male who opened fire on him using a high- powered weapon. Lovell was shot 13 times about his body before the accomplice escaped in a waiting vehicle.
Lall, who was said to be standing next to Lovell was shot in his left foot; he was treated at a hospital and sent away and is assisting the police in their investigation.
The police have recovered 14 9mm spent shells from the scene.
Lovell had previous brushes with the law. In 2008, he was charged for the murder of University of Guyana (UG) student Dennis Edghill, but he was later freed.
Some years ago, he also made the headlines when he was charged with forging the signature of a businessman and issuing forged cheques to the Palm Court Restaurant.
He was also a suspect in a series armed robberies.
