FINANCE Minister Winston Jordan on Thursday announced that government has reduced the prices for gasoline and diesel sold by the Guyana Oil Company (GUYOIL) country wide. This is the second reduction in the price for gasoline and diesel by the company since the election of the APNU+AFC government in May of this year. As of today, GUYOIL will sell gasoline whole sale at $183 per litre, a reduction of $9. The retail price for gasoline is now $190 per litre as compared to $199 per litre previously.
The wholesale price for diesel is now $155 per litre, a $7 reduction from the previous price of $162 per litre while the retail price for diesel is now $161 per litre as compared to $168 previously.
In August, the Finance Minister announced the first reduction in prices. Gasoline was reduced to $199 per litre while diesel was reduced to $168 per litre for retail purchase.
