The ‘Guyana Night’ event, set for October 31, will see a ‘musical inferno’ ,according to Ramkellawan, and by this he means a mind-boggling mix of riveting soca and chutney music.
He added that the type of show was decided upon to honour Guyanese entertainers, and to create an arena where both chutney and soca fans can enjoy their musical choices in harmony at the same venue.
While the public, on many occasions, have dubbed Fire Fest Productions as the giants in entertainment promotions, many have lauded their move to have several genres of music on the same stage. Many are particularly elated that at this upcoming show, fans will be afforded a variety of music as well as dance.
This event, according to many, is essentially the ‘clash of the locals’, and will feature just a few international entertainers.
Slated for the Betterhope Community Centre Ground, it will see dazzling performances from Mr. Ramkellawan himself; Soca King, Jumo ‘Rubber Waist’ Primo; international chutney act, Terry Gajraj; and local chutney entertainer, Rajesh Dubraj.
Carded to perform also are character dancer, ‘Granny Ivelaw’; Calypso King, Young Bill Rogers; the entertaining Charmaine Blackman; Prince JP; Aaron Dasrat; Cecilia Samaroo; and Bunty Singh.
Fans can expect a wealth of dance from the Firefest Dancers, Roshini Boodhoo Dance Troupe, the Shalita Dance Troupe, and the Nach Gana Academy of Dance. The MC, of course, will be WR Reaz.
Fans are anticipating the scorching presentations of local belly dancer, ‘Sandella’.
The artistes will be backed by the Shakti Strings Band.
