GUYANA’S vehicles for the third leg of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championships in Barbados next month are locked, loaded and ready for shipping. The cars and bikes for the Barbados leg were loaded into containers at the John Fernandes Wharf, Mandela Ave where the championship’s title sponsor Seaboard Marine will transport them to the host country.
The team is being led by the Group 4 champion and current point leader, Kristian Jeffrey, and his father Kevin, and includes Mark Vieira and Danny Persaud.
Among the other vehicles loaded today were Nazim Gafoor’s (Group 2), and Trinidadian Group 3 representative Paul Vieira’s.
The other team member, Rameez Mohammed, explained to Chronicle Sport that he will be unable to make it because his car is not yet ready.
Meanwhile, late inclusion Nikhil Seereeram will foot the expenses to send his bike to Barbados after repair works have not been completed before the shipping date.
Seereeram will be joined on the superbikes by Matthew, Elliot and Stephen Vieira as well as Joel ‘GM’ Neblette and Kevin Persaud.
The second leg of the CMRC will take place September 11-14 at the Bushy Park Circuit in St Phillips. (Stephan Sookram)
