Speaking with the man’s mother at the Georgetown Public Hospital last evening, the woman, Debbi Persaud, said that she was inside her house when she heard the gunshot and then heard someone shouting for “Mummy”
The woman said that when she rushed down stairs she saw her son lying on the ground while the gunman, whom she also identified, made off in the dark. The woman said that she was able to see the face of the shooter.
Asked what may have led to the shooting, the woman explained that her son was out with some friends on Sunday, and, the killer, who is known to them, approached her son and his friends and asked for money. She said that she does not know what financial transactions the men might have made.
The woman said that when the gunman asked for the money and it was not given to him, later on that same Sunday night, he passed the now dead Randy and his friends next to a friend’s car, and he opened fire on the car. That matter was reported to the police, according to the woman.
