Scrap iron dealer remanded for alleged drug trafficking

Scrap iron dealer Keith Tuesday, 45, (no address given) was yesterday remanded to prison by Magistrate Judy Latchman on a drug trafficking charge. He pleaded not guilty to the charge, which detailed that on March 6, at Alexander Street, Georgetown, he had in his possession 2.3 grammes of cocaine for the purpose.

Police Prosecutor Renetta Bentham told the court that the alleged cocaine was found in a plate which Tuesday possessed, and that he was selling the drug at the time he was caught.

The prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds of the nature and seriousness of the offence, and the penalty attached.

The prosecution’s objection was upheld and the matter was postponed to March 12.
