FORTY-six-year-old, Christendeo Deo of Lot 15 Line Path, Corriverton, Corentyne has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, and has been put on $300,000 bail by Springlands Magistrate, Rabindranauth Singh when he appeared before that magistrate to answer to the indictable charge.
Deo is alleged to have committed the offence on June 18 last, but the delay in charges being instituted was because the Region Six traffic cops were awaiting instructions from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution.
Deo was allegedly behind the wheel of motor pick-up GHH 7827 when that vehicle collided with Satesh Ramdass, a father of three, who was pronounced dead on arrival at the Skeldon Public Hospital. A subsequent post-mortem conducted by Dr. Vivikanand Brijmohan has revealed that Ramdass died from shock and haemorrhage, due to multiple injuries.
This case will be recalled on October 10.
