THE Miss Guyana Universe Committee has confirmed being one step closer in narrowing down the list of applicants that have shown interest in becoming Guyana’s Miss Universe representative later in the year.
The Committee is presently reviewing the applications, and will soon shortlist the Miss Guyana Universe hopefuls. The date for the local leg of the competition is yet to be fixed, but it is understood (from<<<Guyana Times Entertainment>>>) that the pageant will be held in September.
The winner of the competition will replace Katherina Roshana as Miss Guyana Universe, and will represent Guyana at the international pageant slated for later in the year.
Interested applicants have to be between the ages 18 and 25, and should be between five and six feet in height. It is also necessary for each applicant to have a copy of her birth certificate, and she must be in possession of a valid Guyana passport.
All applicants were also advised to enclose two references in their applications.
Ms Guyana Universe would not only get a chance to represent Guyana at the Miss Universe Pageant, but would also win up to $3 million in cash, a three-week vacation in a foreign country, and a four-year paid tuition at the University of Guyana.
