Asks Calvin Roberts CAN DOLPHIN stop Lodge or Christ Church get past St George’s?These questions will be answered this afternoon. when the semifinals of this year’s Milo-sponsored, Petra Organisation-organised Under-20 Inter-Secondary School Football championships kick off at the Ministry of Education ground at 14:00hrs and 16:00hrs respectively Dolphin downed Charlestown in their quarterfinal matchup at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground to earn a place in the final four, while Lodge made light work of giant-killers Queen’s College, to set up this afternoon’s clash which should be a mouth-watering experience for football fans. Lenroy Forde, Dequan Matthews, Samuel Hunte, their custodian Dante Forde and the pint-size Job Caesar are the players expected to lead Dolphin’s charge for a place in next Saturday’s final, which will be played at the same venue. On the other half of the field will be a re-energised Lodge unit, who are being led by their formidable custodian Hakeem Roach, who will be receiving support in the outfield from Orlando Greaves, Shemar Smith, Jarred Grannum, Ryan Hackett and Tavel Jones. For the St George’s versus Christ Church encounter, the latter who defeated Queenstown 1-0 in an enthralling game at the GFC ground last Thursday night, will be looking to dethrone the defending champions who have gone on a late surge recently in the defence of their championship. Quincy Lawrence, Adolph George, Okeri Carrington, Seon Taylor, Ozeal Small, Niante Northe, Jamal Browne and Joshua Williams were all on target when St George’s defeated Tucville 11-2, while Roddy McGloggan, Curt Rohee and Orin Moore found the back of the net in their 4-2 quarterfinal win over Bishops’ High last Thursday. Christ Church are no pushovers and with the exit of Queen’s College, they can now wear the tag of ‘giant-killers’ in this tournament so far, following their 1-0 quarterfinal win over a game and enthusiastic Queenstown outfit. For today’s fixture against St George’s, the Camp and Middle Street-based Christ Church outfit will look to the likes of Kadeem Blackman, Lonsdale George and Andre Trotz to steer them past the defending champions and into the final.
