THE JAPAN Karate Association/World Federation Guyana will be holding its first grading exercise under the watchful eyes of Master Yasuaki Nagatomo at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, from 10:00hrs tomorrow. In an exclusive coverage with Chief Instructor of JKA/WF Guyana, Sensei Christopher Chaves said this promises not only to be special but the most anticipated, since the highlight of this grading will feature the four students taking their Nidan testing (2nd degree Black Belt) and the seven taking their Shodan testing (1st degree Black Belt).
The Charismatic 6th Dan – Japanese Master and ‘A’ Class JKA Judge and Instructor – Master Nagatomo, who is originally from Kyushu Japan, but now resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, where he is the Chief Instructor of that state and serves as a member of the Operating Board of JKA/WF America, will be conducting this examination after a training clinic..
Sensei Chaves stated that their combined Dojo’s (Berbice – Canje and Port Mourant, HQ National Park, Craig EBD and their newest Dojo – Mae’s Primary, Middleton Street) will all rendezvous.
He emphasised that “endurance, a good show of character development, respect, humility and technical skills are some of the fundamental requirements students will need to possess in order to be successful when graded and all members of the public and martial arts fraternity are invited to attend the exercise tomorrow.
